”United into the righteous and the unrighteous, and

”United we stand, divided we fall” – AesopA lot of nations represent plenty of races and cultures and are considered as a nation of immigrants. These countries do however still face many racial issues. There has come a time where people are divided into the righteous and the unrighteous, and the righteous do the dividing. Which explains that when a person has an opinion, that differentiates them from someone else, they start dividing by saying, them and us. We should all have a fresh start by being united. Today, a form of racism that exists may not only be acts of mentioning unfair and intolerable comments but more not participating in a group where there could be people of different color, not like being present near someone who is classified as a person of ”color”. I do claim that the situation regarding dividing has changed, yet it has more to do. But There were some inspirational people in this world that changed humanity in its best ways. In 1865, the slavery gets outlawed and in 1868 America grants equal protection for both black and white people. Despite these laws, blacks did not always get treated well. According to history.com, On December 1, 1955, where a white man asked for a lady named Rosa Parks to give up her seat for him, which she refused on the bus. She got tired of not being treated right and I do believe that standing up for yourself claiming you are worth more is extraordinary and remarkable. This action of hers gave a lot of attention and she did get famous for not giving up her seat. She received different awards and she also started the Montgomery bus boycott. Regarding different aspects of her action, I have not seen anyone who disagrees with her, maybe in that time, some racist people did not like her behavior. But apart from that, no one seems to dislike her action.Inspirational people including her did make the world change its thoughts on divided humanity, but there are yet some changes to be.On August 9, 2014, occurred the catastrophic shooting of Michael Brown by white police officer Darren Wilson. Michael was suspected and officer Darren Wilson shot him after fleeing. Multiple sources like the guardian.com claim that there was a video released from Ferguson market. The documentary includes previously unseen footage of brown in the store getting drinks and cigarillos where the clerk puts the drinks and cigarillos in a bag. In the video, they seemed to exchange a small amount of marijuana. However, the attorney for the market claims the workers refused the offer and there was no deal between them. “Regardless of what was revealed in the video, Michael Brown should have never lost his life,” board member John Gaskin III said in a statement. “If the video is accurate and valid, it is unfortunate that Brown was portrayed internationally as a ‘thief’ and ‘criminal’.” There are different aspects regarding this issue actually, people have claimed he was a thief and had a criminal record and deserved to get shot etc.To summarize everything I do believe that if we look at history there are many admirable and positive examples of the time in the world right now. Black people have fought for their rights and I am glad to say they have earned it by now, many black people have become actresses, singers, tv hosts, and most importantly we had the African American president Barack Obama of the United States. However, there are still some issues to deal with even today. Regardless of the situation, I do not think someone is worth losing their lives, if we take Michael Brown as an example. Maybe going to jail could be a way of giving a thief a taste of their own medicine, not by dying. He could have shot his leg if he felt threatened. Racism has been present in almost every civilization throughout history I believe. Even though we have progressed incredibly in the last couple of decades socially, does racism, hatred, and acts that are intolerable still exist, deeply embedded in close-minded people and traditions. I, on the other hand, have not experienced any discrimination so I do not know the feeling but I have seen others experience, and it just shows peoples lack of knowledge on that part. I do believe that it is time for us to take charge of this situation and think about solutions regarding the problem.Sources.Theguardian.comI chosen this website due to the fact that I was going to use Michael Brown in my discussion essay, this is a Uk newspaper and from my own perspective it did not seem to take any sides regarding the situation and seemed to have reliable facts. Most people do find this source reliable because that it has claimed that the newspaper has a unique ownership structure. Which seems to make its content free from the owners own commercial conflict. To understand the Guardian’s real influence, its claimed to be looked beyond the UK, its website is one of the top 3 most popular English news sites in the world. It also has a policy of not interfering in their decisions when writing in this news siteHistory.comWhen I wanted to mention Rosa Parks as an example of this discussion essay regarding racism, I turned to history.com. Where it seemed to have a lot of notes and historical information to offer. Their information seems really reliable, I have researched the information regarding Rosa Parks and this site did do a good job of giving out correct information. This site has very well informed text that you can understand, and it also has a video that you can watch regarding whatever topic you are searching for. I did however not take much information from this site due to the fact that I was not going to write an essay about Rosa Parks, but only briefly mentioning what she got famous and known for so I can use her as an example when I try to describe and explain the issue regarding dividing humanity into ”us and them”. Therefore there is not a lot to analyze about the short summary of the information of Rosa parks because there was only a little information taken and it is the same info that other sites offer about what happened on the bus as well.
