(1994) cited that cockfighting is the oldest sport in the history. Thus, this
kind of gambling is a widely known sport especially for those persons
exercising it. Persons involved in cockfighting are called cockfights. Many
researchers said that most of the victims in cockfighting are the men
specifically the fathers that have already drawn to the called sport.
Researchers have pointed out, cockfights
attract people from all stratification system and the data show that people
from high-end hierarchy are underrepresented: rural poor, construction workers
and agriculturists predominate at most cockfights (Bryant & Capel, 1974). However,
cockfighting in United States is illegal in some U.S states. Louisiana State is
the last state to implement the law in banning the called sport. Cockfighting
in the state in now banned since June 2007 and the ban took effect until August

In Managok Malaybalay City Bukidnon most of the men’s populations are
cockfights specifically the fathers, fathers drawn into cockfighting should
already know the risks and consequences that being a cockfight may affect the

been reported that in the other country ten percent of those who gamble have
experienced serious family problems related directly to gambling behavior (Abbot
& Cramer, 1993). During the review researchers of the study suggested that gambling
vs parenting should be studied to assess the community in resolving the problems
in the family.
Studying the gambling vs parenting will know
the behavior of parent in the family specifically those fathers that have drawn
to cockfighting. Its importance is to secure the feeling of loneliness in the
family to consider the risks and consequences of being a cockfight. The study
could also be a useful instrument for future researchers.
