2 THE PROBLEM OF
RESEARCH:

The present research
project aims to study cultural pollution depicted in selected novel of Amit
Chaudhari, Arvind Adiga and Chetan Bhagat. The cultural pollution in selected
novel will be studied stylistically.

INTRODUCTION:

In Indian literature
have a great place of English Novels. English novels originated about 19th
century in India. In beginning of English novels were not English as a mother
tongue even though Indian novelist has written many novels in English language
in sprit of English as an international language and influence of English on
India. In beginning of novel writing, Indian novelist has depicted social
issues, political, economic and cultural pollution in their novels.

Literature may be mirror
of society it reveals surroundings nature and atmosphere, whatever happens in
human life. There is two part of Indian novels we can just divides first is
before independence of India and after independence of India. Before independence
of India, novels had related very closely to social issues, tradition, cultural
and political incidents. Later novels are depends on issues of partition of
India, bad tradition in Indian people about social facts such as under age
marriage, dowry system, casteism, so many Indian novelist has given place to
such topics in their novels. During the periods of 1920 to 1950 well-known
Indian novelists like R. K. Narayanan, Mulkraj Anand, Raja Rao, Bhabhani
Bhattacharya etc. depicts in their novels themes on social and political issues
and problems, rural reflection, middle class family, their conflicts, manners
and so many issues among the society. Therefore, Indian fiction acquired its
place in India gradually.

 

What is cultural
pollution?

manner of viewing social, cultural, political, issues and changing human life.

pollution is the angle of considering human relationship it will be external
and eternal.

3  NEED AND SIGNIFICANCE.

 In
the present world and society, Novel or Fiction genre is so important because
it helps to us understand and appreciate the world around us. While writing
novel authors have to be use his experience, creativity, surrounding of
society. Present situation of the society etc. if we understand the point of
view of the author in his fiction we easily appreciate the world around us.

Fiction teaches to us how to change our
life and accept it, in this thesis I am trying to find out cultural pollution
in selected novel of authors. The need of the study is to find out cultural
pollution throughout the selected novels. It will help to understand the social
human life around us. Therefore, the study of cultural pollution needed for it.

4 SURVEY OF LITERATURE:

The present research work is based on
selected novel of Amit Chaudhari, Arvind Adiga and Chetan Bhagats novels.

Selected fiction writer is most famous
and has achieved worldwide acclaim on their notable work. They have infused new
theme into the fictional world.

Amit Chaudhari is a novelist, poet and
literary critic.

Arvind Adigas first debut novel the white tiger was
the Booker prizewinner in 2008. He is fourth Indian born Author to win Booker
prize. Third selected novelist chetan Bhagat is well known for his column and novels
in India. His all novels are bestselling in India. Indian fiction always
depicts the scene of poverty, social issues and political negotiation. Every
novelist had a moral responsibility to presents social truth through his work.

5 LITERATURE
REVIEW:

Indian
fiction always depicts the scene of poverty, social issues and political
negotiation every novelist has a moral responsibility to presents social truth
through his work. India have diversity in many things culturally, social, political
and traditionally. Most of the early writing in India was about political,
corruption and poverty between middle class people and lower class people.
Therefore, many writers in India have raises this question. In India have two
phases first is about pre- Independence and post-Independence. Before
independence nature of novel were different and after independence appearance
of novels are different so, many writers has raises the issues in their novel
about the tradition, customs, rules, corruption and political negotiation.
Early writing began by accepting new culture and whichever facts happen in
Indian changing culture reflects in novels.

Selected
novelists works has studied, for the same topic with a different view. The
present research focuses on the culture pollution, political problems etc.
depicted in selected novels.

OBJECTIVE OF THE RESEARCH:

 The objectives of the present research
are:

study in details of cultural pollution in novel genre.

make review of research on past Indian cultural pollution depicted in Indian
English literature.

To
study the cultural pollution in selected novel of Amit chaudharis Afternoon
Raag and Freedom song.

To
study the cultural pollution in selected novel of Arvind Adigas The white tiger
and The last man in tower.

To
study the cultural pollution in selected novel of Chetan Bhagats five point
someone and Revolution 2020.

make research observations and final remarks.

data is of two types i.e. primary and secondary. Primary sources include the
original books on cultural pollution and its approaches as well as selected
novels of novelists whereas secondary sources includes books, journals and the
reviews on the original novels. The following are the important tools of data
collection:

The
selected novels of three modern novelist and the approaches of cultural
pollution is the scope of present research study. The approaches of cultural
pollutions will be applied to three novelist’s novels. The selected six novels
will be the limitation of the study.

work of cultural pollution and focalization will be studied with various issues
   thoroughly. The researchers work in
this field will be focused. Cultural pollution will be discussed, observed and
studied thoroughly. References, substitution and review of critic will be
studied. The researcher of the research and different approaches of different
cultural pollution will be studied and elaborated in this chapter.

CHAPTER THREE:
CULTURAL POLLUTION IN AMIT CHAUDHARIS AFTERNOON RAAG AND FREEDOM SONG.

In
this chapter Amit Chaudharis novel selected novels are studying and finding
cultural pollution of Amit Chaudharis selected novel. Which are coming from
theme of cultural conflict. the present novel Afternoon Raag is about a work of
Indian modernity and modern transformation of Indian civilization  Amit Chaudhari has reflects Indian values
about society or community and different aspects of cultural  and human beings. His second novel is Freedom
song this novels story deeply rooted in politics and middle class families’
political and economic situation in point of view of India today.

 

 

CHAPTER
FOUR: CULTURAL POLLUTION IN ARVIND ADIGAS THE WHITE TIGER AND THE LAST MAN IN
TOWER.

IN
The present novels will study the cultural pollution in the the white tiger and
last man in tower both novels story is related to political and social
background actually his first novels story is narrated through the latter to
china’s premier. Narrator of the novel belongs to poor family and he oppressed
by the four animal who presents situations throughout the novel reflects
darkness of corrupt nature of politics.

Second
novel of Arvind Adiga The last man tower deals with the story about estate a
business of sellings homes and in present situation India faces economics,
social, cultural and political problems. All this issues reflected in this
novel. The dominant theme of the novel is ambitious middle class is victimized
by exploitative property developers.

CHAPTER
FIVE: CULTURAL POLLUTION IN CHETAN BHAGTS FIVE POINT SOMEONE AND REVOLUTION
2020.

Chetan
Bhagat raises so many problems related to social background life and
backwardness of Indian middle class people. In Chetan Bhagats five point
someone he has raised problems of education system and three students how they
faced it. With this reflection, he has focused on social and youth cultural
background. In his second novel Revolution 2020 he has focused on same problems
with different aspects. Author has gone through his two novels with the various
type of cultural pollution.

The
cultural pollution will be observed through character, society, political, economic
situation external and internal conflict of human beings will be studied.

CHAPTER
SIX: CONCLUSION

The
chapter will cover the debate, discussion and conclusion of the selected
novels. The research will put forward the findings.
